tbf unless she was openly gay or more direct it might not be that obvious esp if she was 'happily' dating some men despite constantly being dumped, and i imagine in JP where gay marriage isn't rly a thing, even if there are a handful of lgbt ppl, just being asked 'move in with me' might not rly give her a hint of the message, but i guess her 'new look'/haircut and acting as the 'ideal boyfriend' might help her slowly warm up to it to the point she's like "if only you were a boy/i should date you instead" (which is fine in a fictional setting but i wouldnt' be surprised if there are irl cases of some girls moving in together with a secret crush but it doesn't work out b/c the other person doesn't end up being bi/demi/etc)
