Still don't know why she keeps calling him sensei if they're supposed to be a secret...

Page 10:
Japanese morning glory (here kengyūka, but more usually asagao) is taxonomically Ipomoea nil.

For the different varietals listed on the same page:

Shukkon
I can't make out what "shukkon" is supposed to mean, in this context -- though it is clear that it refers to a particular colour of morning glory (in shades from a pale violet to light blue colour -- use Google image search for "宿根朝顔" to see what they look like) . The original text in the raws has「宿根朝顔だってさ」(shukkon asagao datte sa), but the only entry I can find for 宿根 is "(Buddh) fate predetermined from a prior existence".

Heavenly Blue
"Heavenly Blue" is given in katakana-transcribed English (ヘブンリー・ブルー). It seems to be a fairly recent varietal, hence the English name. Very pretty sky-blue colour.

Yaguruma
"Yaguruma" (矢車), or arrow wheel, is the name of the windmill wheel sometimes found on top of the poles on which carp streamers (windsocks) are raised (use Google image search for "矢車" to see what they look like). The comparison with the white-striped varietal of morning glory (Google image search : "矢車 朝顔") is obvious.

@freakofnature Thanks for breaking it down. I should've added (or will add) translation notes for the yaguruma at least, since the name describes its color.

Honestly, though, there's enough in this chapter for a few pages of afterword, but this isn't a horticulture/literature/mythology class. And who reads afterwords anyway? ?

Heh. I used to be with a scanlation group that always did explanatory afterwords (we were scanlating a historical manga). I don't know how many people read them, but we got very positive responses from those who did. Anyway, I guess I never lost the habit -- and besides, I'm a huge pedant (I bet you could tell ? )

Oh, and when the manga was published in English, the publisher copied many of our afterword texts for their edition, sometimes verbatim. ?

If you're stuck on something, and can't figure it out, feel free to drop me a message. Sometimes it helps to have a second person trying to work out what something means.

BTW, I think I figured out what 宿根朝顔 (shukkon asagao) means. My mistake was in viewing 宿根 and 朝顔 as separate terms. 宿根草 (shukkonsou) means "perennial plant", so it seems pretty obvious (in retrospect) that 宿根朝顔 (shukkon asagao) means "perennial morning glory". Morning glories (Ipomoea) are perennial in tropical climes, but not in temperate climes. So I would guess that they're talking about a hardy perennial varietal that is perennial in cooler-than-tropical climes.

@freakofnature I originally had it as perennial before (i.e. I has Sensei say "that's a perennial"), actually, but I didn't see any any breeds identified as "perennial", at least in English, so I let it be given that I left the other names as transliterations. I'll add in another translation note noting 宿根草 = perennial.

The angry face was hilarious, the author didn't even redraw it for the 2nd panel, just zoomed in.
