Ralph's actually the true human Hero, isn't he?

If demonkind isn't aggressive, I'm going guess they're the longtime guardians over some world-ending menace that humanity is (un?)knowingly trying to release by defeating the demon king.

Now I'm wondering if these girls are just exceptionally useless leeches, or if demonkind in general are pacifists who'd be genocided within months if Ralph wasn't holding the line.
DAS WHAT I'M SAYING!! Considering it's only mob parties trying to clear the heavenly kings, Ralph is actually the hero and/or the saint.

I know this is more comedy and usually in this kind of novel the world building gets largely skipped over. But I still would like to know how a person got picked as the 4 Heavenly Kings, why the heroes kept trying to kill them when those guys literally can't be bothered doing anything remotely worth killing over, why doesn't he kill the heroes(is it personal value or something else), would the heroes even kill them or just like they did to them, they will just beat them up and declare them defeated?

He should take a vacation and leave his communicator behind. One day vacation with advanced notice. He should be back before the castle falls. Let those three pay for damages incurred.

I'm starting to feel sorry the MC. The one moment he gets a day off, it's all ruined by the three brats.
They get the money and prestige of being generals but they doss so he does the work of 4. I would ditch them and job and become a traveller

I was hoping for some info about how MC ended up having to carry this title/job, but author seems set on skipping it.

My current theory is that author took a note from Japanese work ethics where you cannot quit a job once you joined the company and that's how he got tricked into it.
It does seem to resonate with jp work environment and culture
