Nah thats a follow along sentence. It means he lost his lover who was also his childhood friend. At worse and it's a shoddy line translation it could just mean that FMC became more then a childhood friend.

Overall I've rated this series a 4/10 before this chapter and I still hold to that, I don't find this chapter to be really anything better then the rest of it cause this screams axe-kunned. It's forcibly rushed and feels incomplete and no way does this have a satisfying ending.

And if you think about it, the MC is being very mature saying that he wants to take things slow with the childhood friend. I mean he still no over the loss of his girlfriend but that doesn't mean that he doesn't love his childhood friend. He just doesn't want to rush it. In my opinion, it would of been a little weird if he just jumped into a new relationship right after he was do depressed after his girlfriends death.

We know, what we're talking about is how it's clearly axed cause this is all rushed to hell after just introducing new characters. It's kinda takes away from it all cause I assumed MC would take his time, its pretty traumatic to lose someone that young but I'm guessing it didn't sell well or well enough in japan.

With due respect, please get an actual proofreader or a quality checker. Every chapter there's like 5 mistakes at the least. For example, this chapter, you capitalize "Childhood friend" and then write "kokoa" on the same page.

I understand he probably doesn't want her to end up like a rebound relationship for him, so he's taking it slow. But if this is ending in like 2 chapters and they don't end up together...

They kind of do have a point though, especially since this group's tagline is "Dying for Quality not Quantity", and it can drive expectations from readers even if it weren't a serious thing and meant as a joke.

I'd like to hope they can live up to it, because actually aiming for quality is admirable and sorely needed not just in scanlation but in other hobby TL circles like fansubbing and vtuber clipping.

I don't know what you've been reading but most manga that I read have better tl than this.

2 chapters, the scanilation isn't bad though definitely more readable then alot. I'm not against MTL but some MTL's are direct copy pastes and those get a bit iffy to read lol.
