Anyone speak Japanese? why is the manga called shoujouhime when shes called shojohime? Isnt that more accurate since its based on the mythical primate shojo?

what does shojo mean? i thought shoujou is like girl. like mahou shoujou/magical girl

The Japanese name is 猩猩姫 where 猩猩 (shoujou) references mythical talking apes in old folklore (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shōjō) and 姫 is the usual hime/princess meaning.
