The more I read the less I relate with the characters and the story. These scenarios seem forced and made in a way just to keep the plot going. Nothing wrong about being original of course, but at least help readers establish some connections with the characters.
Like bro, a tiny scar on the face wont impact people's perspective that much. A teacher in Japan wouldn't do such reckless and irresponsible approaches. The hostage situation seems very unlikely to happen, and even if it did, I doubt it would go in such a scenario. And I can't help but think, if I were to be confessed in such a way, I'd worry more about a potential physical threat than who's making the confession. And worst of all, there's just not enough explanation why things happen the way they did. How are these supposed to make sense?
This concludes my rant.
