So the multiple personality disorder is enough of a common problem to have a page in a book, but also bad enough that someone took the page so no one finds out what it actually implies.

I don't think any of these characters are likeable.
I like the dynamic of the scumbag MC with both of the personalities but there’s too many characters. It’s a shame too, because so far they’re way more interesting than such compelling characters as:

  • forehead
  • glasses
  • 100% confirmed future cannibal

Actually cannibal girl is fine but her gimmick guarantees she dies or gets horribly messed up doing something stupid

A story can be great even without "likable" characters, the issue I see here is that so far this one lacks a good hook in general. The multiple-personality is a fine gimmick, but it's a bit thin on its own.

If anyone here remembers Toji no Miko, that anime series had a very similar premise and the first episode didn't make the main characters seem particularly likable. But the plot was strange enough to make me curious (the exorcist shrine maidens are in a sword fighting tournament... Wait, why is the main character's rival in the final match suddenly trying to kill the military general overseeing the tournament?), and after the second episode I was invested in the characters through the plot. That's the kind of "sauce" that I'm missing here.

I hope that the torn out pages are hinting at what the actual plot is going to be about, because watching a bunch of child soldiers get brutally killed would not be very interesting on its own. I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day gets away without a deeper plot (at least in the first one or two volumes - I haven't read futher yet) because the war is more of a backdrop to the characters' personal lives at the child soldier academy than the main point.

Well considering my lack of knowledge on the matter(I watched moon knight) the second personality is a trauma response, spawned to help categorizes the trauma to better handle it, or avoid it

so I say the asshole is the original personality, originally I was gonna say the other way around and it's hard to make a guess with little info, but I was going off the assumption the asshole being the split that she only coming out in dangerous situations to protect her, there's a form of protectiveness, like she's shielding her from the world... But then I flipped it, she rarely comes out, traumatic event makes one more isolated, the other personality is cheerful at times, it kinda clicked and I forgot my other reasoning.... But yeah that's where I stand for now, in case it's revealed next chapter

That plan working out for ya chief?
