Early on this whole interaction feels a bit forced, Miyagi has to be way more confident to start things off then she ever seems later. OTOH despite her initially claiming that she didn't have any feelings about Sendai before they met by chance at the bookstore, some of her later chapters feel like hints that she was already crushing on / resenting Sendai a fair bit from a distance.
