You know, there's something about these kinds of tropes that just make me feel so many kinds of negative emotions. Disgust. Contempt. Pity. Despair. Forcing innocent people to fight and die is just beyond sickening, and what's gross is that it has been done, is being done now, and will be done again in the future.

I know that's the point, right? That's the normal human response to this sort of thing. The point is to inspire these negative emotions. And I hate it. Why do I keep reading it?

Maybe because there's something beautiful about people trying to live with dignity, despite their horrible circumstances. Their ugly horrible reality makes them shine like diamonds.

IDK. It's 2:40AM and I got no sleep last night either, so maybe I'm just losing my marbles and vomiting nonsense nobody will read into the comment section of a 5 year old chapter.

I understand exactly what you mean, and truly a beautiful way of putting how a murky life and circumstances and hide the beauty of their efforts under such a dark veil of their tragic existence.


Also I wouldn't say an empty chat room of an old chapter, turns out the person you were talking was just fashionable late. 2:17am for me, now I wonder who will read out comments and pass by and share.
