the big antagonist "yeah i'm an asshole who stepped on that little kid's stuffed toy present she got for me" is just cliche to me
realistically, the son would take the plushie, say some nice words to his little sister, maybe even put it on his desk! then he'd lay off half the company (no severance pay!) with a smile. those fuckers are always smiling at you even when they're doing heinous shit it creeps me the fuck out no wonder they get called lizard people
