Holy! I used to read this series and was disappointed with how short the anime was. Forgot all about it and when ever I remembered it just assumed it was either canceled/finished/or thrown into hiatus limbo. Did not expect it to still be going. Time to restart and catch up.
Ren: Kill 'em with kindness.
Ren: ...But do kill them.
(Kyoko: Mark me down as scared and into it.)
It shouldn't even be "mid-manga" anymore, this series has been running since before everyone had a mobile phone. lolis been maybe 5 years since the progression of Skip Beat became... well non-existent? I miss the older arcs with real plot, character intention, valuable dialogue and background. For some reason every release is now 15 pages with 5 pannels of random stuff, without real intention to lead in some direction. Adding new characters mid-manga is fine but we have 0 development for any of them and the story is just stagnant. If this should be an arc of Kuon redemption and maturity the last 20 chapters are adding no substance to the overall character development for Ren.
I don't even see where this should be going anymore, and on top of all, all this manga has been unravelling in the span of.. a year for the characters what in the world of bananas
23... Has it really been that long? I still remember reading the first chapter! I'll be glad when this arc is over, though. With how overtly Japanophilic the US has become in reality, the hostility toward the Japanese actors in-universe is really jarring to me. Was it a thing in the past? Oh, definitely. I'm not denying that. Is it still a thing now? There's always going to be people that feel that way. I'm just saying that I find it surreal. It shouldn't even be "mid-manga" anymore, this series has been running since before everyone had a mobile phone. lol

I feel like the whole vibe of the series is off by now. They really should find a way to end it.23... Has it really been that long? I still remember reading the first chapter! Just saying that any series, old enough for their readers kids to be as old as their parents when they started reading, should get to the point and finish. A good ending is needed for a series to be truly ranked as good or great.Shhh... Don't say that where Axe-kun might hear you! But as for Box-R, true! She was amazing in that role. Scary, but amazing. I'd love to see a callback. In the meantime, though, she's also amazing as Momiji, so there's that.
