I imagine anyone who watches basketball knows this already, but the index on pg.3 is missing some info (likely a mistranslation again). There are 5 positions on the court for each team and they are typically separated as follows:
1. Point Guard (PG) (Often referred to as Playmaker)
2. Shooting Guard (SG)
3. Small Forward (SF)
4. Power Forward (PF)
5. Center (C)
And as the box indicates people often refer to positions by their numbers alone, so someone playing as a 5 is a Center, for example.
