Seems okay , could be better could be worse.

Though dying alone leaving your pet trapped in your home with your corpse sounds like nightmare fuel in hindsight.
but you dying & leaving your pet food, in the form of your dead body xD
and all the better for the slime

An honestly refreshing fantasy series. Not technically isakai either.
Man in a fantasy world dies and gets to relive his life. He's not being reborn into a new world.

No video game levels or character sheet bullshit either.

Why are Japanese author so obsessed with slimes? It's such an unremarkable monster with simple design.
It would be one thing if it was once in a while, but nearly every Japanese fantasy story, specially isekai, have a slime as the protagonist's pet
Slime is from D&D.
For Japanese people though, it's an iconic part of the Dragon Quest franchise. At one point they closed school in Japan on Dragon Quest release day. It's a popular franchise.
