I like the exploration of the relationships with secondary characters (sister, Mikami-san) - it really highlights how the dynamics change as you get older, and the whole “sibling who looks after parent is taken for granted” is so real 😂

The flashback with Azuma’s breakdown though bawls

right? i love how every character feels fully realized, each playing a meaningful role. and i noticed this just recently but there’s almost never a chapter where i’m not crying over azuma lol 😭 we are nowhere near in age but i relate to him so much in regard to timidity and dealing w uncertainties in life..

Thank you for the update! I'm not kidding I refreshed my update page every single day 😂

I assumed azuma was depressed(?) but didn't know it was to that extent. His sister is a champ 🥹

I'm confused about the thing with mikami-san though. Is it because she doesn't want him to experience grief again?

I'm guessing it means that she doesn't want him to see her deteriorating and then die, she wants to remain in his memory as the helpful woman who uses to work at his home and take care of him and nothing more.

Thank you! That makes sense. But yeah that'd also make me feel lonely. Like it's understandable but still 🥲

Me too! I love that this manga is really about the lives of Azuma and Kuji while they develop a relationship together. They and their romantic relationship might be center, but the rest is very much on the stage and given some time in the spotlight too.

This chapter actually hit a bit too close to me. I'm not as old as then, but I'm also not that much younger so yeah... I kinda wish the only part I could relate to was having a relationship like theirs but it's the one I don't 🥲

Thanks for the chapter!

I’ll eat my hat if the author isn’t at least their age because everything about their lives is so damn real—from losing the childhood home, processing difficult parental relationships, sibling dynamics, ageing parents and career uncertainty (personally the last one hits me the most, but the second last one’s not too far behind).

Thanks and wishing you luck with anything you might be navigating!

I'll do the same. Not only because these issues are present in the story in the first place, but also the mature way they are tackled.

Thanks, fortunately a part of it is already in the past and the rest is not so difficult or I still have some time left before they truly become issues. It's just that I'm already starting to think of those things and then I see them in the story. It's like the characters are just one or two steps ahead of me instead of so far away that I don't share their view yet. But thanks again and good luck to you too!

Same, like I can relate to this manga better than most cause so much of it is similar enough to what my life has looked like lately.

Mikami's request hit particularly hard b/c of how much my grandma hated us seeing her getting weaker - which the author is so spot on about caretaking that it also feels like it's coming from a place of experience and I can't remember the last time I saw it handled so well.

Thank you for the update !
We live in such egoistical world, this chapter gently reminds us to care for those who dedicated themself to take care of us when we were children or when we were at a bad time of our life. I love the sister's pov. I'm glad that Azuma didn't forget or took for granted what she's done for him.
