8 years ago, she would've been 16 and he would've been in his 30's. there's also no way they don't recognize each other, but i'm guessing the author is writing it that way to make it seem less creepy, even though it still is. this was just so unnecessary, imo. the story was great as it was, so i'm going to forget this ever happened and hope it never gets brought up again!

To be fair if you've got decent enough pay/hours and a manager that has their shit together retail can be pretty fun.

Those are big ifs.

But personally I enjoyed customer service and retail quite a lot. I would have stayed if the pay was better.

I guess the problem is that the retail market is too competitive. If there was less competition there would be less pressure and the manager could be more chill. Also they wouldn't have to cut corners in pay/hours.
