I am entirely lost on the weird political dance that’s happening. Is it because it’s convoluted, it’s been too long, or a little bit of both?

I think is technically a new arc, the last one was that they were trying to ask the lords(specially the other gate point besides the pharmacists one)of the area to accept the new flower , they were involved with the incident of the hypnotic perfume that was plotted by the remains of the faction leaded by the twins's brother.
And then the uncle send a quest for a pharmacist that had like a title with a foreign nation(Shirayuki's royal friend title from her homeland).
And that's all i remember for now.
