Wholesome couple :hearts:
The only thing I'm thinking these last chapters is "does the story really needs this?"
I feel the same ..ok, we are being show how much Nanami has grown, but I wonder if that would've been possible with less drama.
I think it works great. It's not an exaggerated situation really, and it really helps to show her growth and how she can support him like he has supported her.

Not always, because you can't smell one of the deadliest toxins - botulinum toxin - but in 99,9% of the time, yeah. Especially if the food was in the fridge for only fricking 2 days. Like, c'mon... It was only 2 days... In a fridge... And cooked at that, which should kill most of the nasty stuff...
Yeah, as far as I know it takes quite a long time for that to grow, enough for other forms of bacteria to grow that you can detect.

from my experience: cooked/fried food, if properly stored (sealed and in a fridge), usually lasts up to a week before it starts going bad - it can often stay good for  much longer after that; as an example: I've once (well more than once) found a cheesecake my grandma made buried at the back of the fridge that was nearly a month old, and it was still fine (most likely because she added vanilla pudding mix to the cream - that stuff has enough preservatives in it to give it a best before date of nearly 2 years, so it's highly likely that a non-negligible amount of those preservatives just got mixed in with/seeped into the rest of the cake and extended its lifespan by several weeks).

If it smells fine, it's fine. Throwing away decent food because of expiration dates is one of the most significant contributors to food waste.
And a good eye too, sometimes with things like jam it's hard to smell or even sometimes see the mold starting to grow.

But yeah, being attentive basically tells you most of the time if food is still good enough for consumption.
