BTW, in the raws, Julius is pronounced as 'Yuriusu', the japanese pronounce the foreign names with 'ju' as 'yu' (maybe based from the latin pronounciation).
If the apprentice child was named 'Yuuri' (the raws had yuri with the prolonged yu), he might have hidden his name/identity by renaming himself as Yuriusu.

bud, have you forgotten the plot? reincarnation is his gift. that means that he reincarnated because of his gift. also no, Yuri should probably have been a boy (the translators are bad at translating japanese, because they don't keep the, -chan, -san, etc.). besides even if Yuri was a girl, if you look at what Julius said, my guess is that he found a way to transfer his memories (or his soul) into his own child. and that's why he wants someone with a lot of magic as his partner.
