author really not good with numbers or common sense

The author has low IQ, just like Alma. Dude's running from home, where he was chased by the guards, and now he's telling everyone where he's from and where he's going. He's haphazardly using his magic powers and dumping extremely valuable sounding materials around like it's nothing, getting surprised when hearing the price, revealing his ignorance to everybody. Normally I'd say the author is purpofully writing the MC to be stupid, to attract lowbrow audience, but if you consider what Doomer said up there, and other past issues, it's clear the author's set of drill bits is just missing a few pieces and this is the best he's capable of.
