This challenge is very much inspired by Jodorowsky/Moebius' The Incal *, where John Difool has to beat the galaxy's toughest warriors up a very similar spire for the right to mate with the Berg queen. This manga was made a few years after The Incal, the similarities are obvious.
It's okay to be inspired by the best, Miyashita is far from the first mangaka I've noticed who has been dipping into Moebius' huge catalogue of work.
