His country basically gets destroyed by a giant lightning bolt as he watches and then he gets crushed by a rock and becomes crippled and loses his eye sight.

I think my problem with Nike is that she's too kind-hearted to actually have any sort of meaningful retaliation against someone. A gift and a curse. She will stick around this country for a bit longer, but don't think its because she likes the guy or anything (she actually hates him after the next chapter), she just wants to help the people.
