This stupid artist is really something. Why not at least bring Flor somewhere near the exit and make it easier for her to reach someone with telepathy? And then he could return if he wanted. But nooo, his feelings are too precious, he's so worried about those people who are fighting while protecting his weak ass, and about this weak defenseless girl who is now overexerting herself to pass only half of the message! What would this sucker do if there wasn't a truck of nitrogen close to the scene already?

More like fiction for teenagers generally loves such heroes. Which is OK as long as they keep that within their teenager peer group, but is rather jarring with adults.
I hope for now it will be the actual children's turn to save the day. Our heroic oh-so-misunderstood-and-unappreciated-but-so-full-of-inner-strength-like-nobody-ever artist still has the interdimensional artist guy to deal with.
