We also have no issue with UTOON picking up and continuing the series (more than 3 months have passed so we effectively surrendered it by default) Wish them good luck! Hopefully, it picked up in the later chapters since we last checked a year ago.

Alright I went to my usual soul land obsession because the raws annoy me and I went through the Chinese forums and chats to get an explanation why the whole thing changed. Basically from my understanding the biggest issue the Manhua adaptation had to face since it started was license issues and the novel’s original author throwing tantrums here and there. This led to artists and director changes. (One important time we all definitely won’t forget was in 2020 when we were at the beginning of the stair land arc and the Managua went on a one and half year hiatus at chapter 260erfect Food. After that the Manhua came back with a new artist and it progressed smoothly again. After the issues resolved the old artist Mu Chen took over again until last year where the last chapter that dropped was the one where tang became a titled douluo and tried to resurrect xiao wu. After that chapter dropped we got a break announcement claiming that we were entering the final saga of the series and that they wanted to take a break from the series so that they can come back with a perfect and amazing art style for the rest of the story. What actually happened was that one of the old directors that worked with them came back to the team and they told the current artist that he had to tone down his creativity and ideas for the series and from now on restrict himself to the ideas they give him so after a lot of debating and arguing he decided to drop out of the project and part ways with the series after being part of it since 2011.

1. (Also this is an explanation as to why the manhua has so much original content. Because he decided when he joined the project that the original novel was good but that it lacked character depth (mostly for the women) and some interesting background and lore about the world so he ended up adding a lot of stuff to the characters and the world setting to make it make more sense or to overall make it more interesting.
   • Oscars food spirit not just being a sausage like in the novel
   • Mahongjun’s origins and why he has a phoenix spirit because the novel just says he had a chicken spirit that mutated but that’s unoriginal unlike the man his that explained his connection to a phoenix clan guy
   • Mubai’s origin and his family being actually existing
   • Manhua original concepts like self created spirit abilities or true bone armament or spirit fusion techniques like the one the seven monsters use (before someone corrects me I’m talking about spirit fusion ability/technique not spirit fusion alone like the one Dai Yuhao and Tang Wutong use in soul land 2)

   The conclusion to this is that the current raws i slander every week are indeed real and if the stuff from white cloud pavillon wants to continue to translate the series they will unfortunately have to use the (disgusting) raws available online
