Well, what good friends? Setting aside the fact that one appears to be a 40-year old detective who hasn't been home or shaved in a week, and the other is some kind of heroic sidekick type, they appear to (somewhat) give a shit about people. Perhaps my rock-bottom expectations for male friends in manga is showing . . .
Those weirdos aside, I liked that Yamada's initial objection to kissing Torii was more about treating her like a friend than it was embarrassment or even fear of harming their relationship. Was refreshing.
