maybe them being exposed to human vitality makes them go crazy like how some vampires /werewolves smelling blood while being hungry would frenzy lol (if anything proper training or like someone supervising their first targets would be good to make sure they don't kill off their targets. bc even with the 'death by snu snu' stereotype, it's much more ...economic? to let someone live and come back for more once a week or so)
