Basically, I love reading trash Isekais. Some of them have overpowered MC's, but some of them don't. I think this would be a good way to filter from the Isekais. Some good Isekai's in my opinion don't have an overpowered MC trope, and it's hard to find them since most of them do. If we add this tag, I can perform a search excluding the tag to find those titles that don't have overpowered MCs.

As for Blackmail, it's really a sub-genre of drama, but there is so sub-genre classification. Right now, in my opinion, it's pretty much assumed that korean hentai manhwa's all have a version of blackmail going on (e.g. weak point, a wonderful new world, silent war). There aren't many pornhwa's without blackmail, so again, it would be nice if I could use this tag to filter out the ones with blackmail.

Also, I would be genuinely interested in reading some ordinary japanese manga that have blackmail as an element to the storyline.

Please discuss and let me know what you guys think UwU. I've attached a poll

I know I screwed up the poll I'm sorry >.<

Where do we draw the line at tagging Overpowered MC's?
Does OPM's Saitama count, despite not being an isekai?

I would say the line to be drawn is based on the premise of the novel. If the author explicitly states we have an OP MC, or if in the first couple of chapters its clear that the MC has some sort of cheat skill, then it gets the tag. It doesn't need to be a question of whether or not the character becomes strong over time. It's more of whether or not the theme is that he's meant to be overpowered.

It doesn't have to be limited to isekai's. E.g. Tatsuya from the Mahouka Koukou series is OP and it's not an isekai.

I feel like "Overpowered MC" will cause too much fighting and arguments because it's a bit of a loaded term. Blackmail is more strict and easily defined because it's not a value judgement per se but a cold description of plot events

No more tag please, the more tag get accepted the more ridiculous it would become. A better suggestion is to refine an already existing tag.

@AbyssalMonkey the idea isn't for blackmail to be a theme, but a genre. There are some dramas and tragedy's that involve it, and some that don't. You are right in that it could be a one time event, but it also be a recurring part of the storyline, hence why I believe it could be a sub-genre.

no particular feeling on the tags. As far as too much fighting, many of the tags. How much real fighting is there anyway? The only one I can think of is a harem one going on now. I disagree with many of the taggings here. I see a decent amount of comedy tags on stuff that I don't view as comedies. To me a drama that has occasional humor that normally occurs in life to me doesn't deserve a comedy tag, it should be that the author is purposely trying to make the series funny rather then just present a realistic life of the characters. Many marked as tragedies to me aren't, at least theme wise, in fact many are relatively lighthearted. There is often one tragic event that triggers a life change and then nothing else, it's not a tragedy, often it isn't even the full chapter.

As far as number, not sure. Is there a stated goal here for how tags are used? I use them when I'm an looking at new series to weed a few out or in or occasionally to find a series I am reading but can't remember the name . Other then that I find the tags or lack of tags here not very useful. If I am looking for something to match a mood or desire to read something I usually go elsewhere to search. Probably about 35% - 45% of the "looking for manga" posts that I answer I find by using tags at other sites.
