Yeah, I was surprised when I got to the afterword and they said they had barely used their camera before starting on this manga. I wonder to what degree they have gotten passionate about it since then... clearly at least a little, there's some nice photos of their cat on their Bluesky.

They're also generally quite good at framing their scenes within this and Aliens that I have to imagine they have an excellent sense of composition, which dovetails very intimately with photography.
