I did not think this series was going to take a sudden dark turn. I thought it was just a coincidence that the art reminded me of tatsuki fujimoto, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the one writing this too.

Pretty much every series by this writer/artist, Hamita, inevitably has a turn like this. If you're not already down the rabbit hole I would advise against reading their other ones tbh. They've been on this shit for years

At least in this case the abuse was telegraphed a mile away, girl have bruises from day 1.
Anyway the key thign was risky, she should have dropped it in the mailbox or taped it to the door, MC could have not noticed it in the dark, and someone could have picked it up the day after.
Of course, maybe she counted on their morning jog being so early no one would pick it up before she returned or MC came out and possibly seen it at sunrise, still a gamble though.
