This is one of those stories where I fear that with every new page the MCs life will take a dark(er) turn but keep on reading because I want to be proven wrong. The little witch and her "friend" are hitting the sweet spot where they are likeable without their fragileness in this hostile world being portrayed in a way that seems too artificial written for drama/suffering.

Oh, she's going to have her heart broken, no? I really, really like Rin so I would probably die too if something like that happened to me. Hopefully the novelist is aware of Rin's feelings and is trying to keep her distance, but I have a bad feeling...
