Its a common troupe in romcom manga
Character like her needs some kind of conflicts in their surroundings to make them relatable or empathize with. It would give them a goal, or at least a reason for potential chatacter development.
And the easiest conflict to pull off is expectations from the family.

that said, im pretty much just theorizing. Whether im right or wrong would eventually be answered regardless.
