nothing actually happened to glory city except for some destroyed buildings and one dead man , and the person who did this is a human(demon lord is just a title) , Nie Li's master's duty is stop the demon beast invasion not infighting in humans, plus Demon Lord's master is just as strong as Nie Li's so he can't do shit about it

I feel like in the novel Nie Li lied to Yuner about their being a way to save her father, specifically because there were pnly traces of his soul left (nearly nothing). But here, its more like he's being honest and just saying he will find a way to revive him.
