This is interesting. I was actually selling the sacred family short. Considering how the dark guild dealt with that small fry Shen Yue, it's more than highly likely the sacred family and the dark guild are one and the same. Or to be specific I reckon the dark guild is a branch of the sacred family. While the sacred family operates nominally within the bounds of laws, the dark guild then handles all the jobs that aren't legal from any point of view. Kidnapping members of the wealthy families is probably also a part of it. You can imagine they demand an outrageous ransom, and then the sacred family jovially offers to borrow the money for it, should the noble family not have that much at hand. This means the victim family would basically pay the money twice to the same criminal!

Not only that, but this would explain how the sacred family fled without hesitation when the monsters attacked the city. They didn't run out there randomly, into the hostile wilderness. Since the dark guild would be operating all the time outside of the city, they must have had solid bases here and there, probably with very nice and secure headquarters somewhere. And I thought the sacred family is just a bunch of petty thieves and idiots when, in fact, it's actually spledid mafia family with a perfect front organisation in addition to the vile criminal side.

@Kaarme I have to agree with you, it also fits their personality, they think they can do as they please, because they can with the dark guild in the shadow's not to mention after they sacred family's fled like bitches they not only had secret bases to hide, they also had a mini army to guard them, and then they can move one place to place without much to worry about, thou they are quite impressive they was even more of a asshole family than I thought they was lloll

Hahaha, pissboy never fails to amaze me. At first he shits in his pants and 5 seconds after they treat him a bit more kindly, he gets so cocky so fast.
