There are two different versions of the first page here. I'm not sure which is supposed to be the final editing pass, because 1 has less fancy formatting but significantly better, less awkward English than 2.
(e.g. "Although he had grown somewhat used to it now" vs "Although growing to somewhat being used to it now"
"They had exchanged these same words countless times before becoming lovers" vs "Countless of times before, they had exchanged these exact words before they became lovers")
The rest of the text seems to be in the style of 2, so I fear the improved version may have been accidentally omitted.

Love the art style of this manga. Didn't know it was an adaptation lol. Maybe I should read it.
