REGARDING THE NICKNAME
Her nick became Witch, for bewitching people. Naofumi spontaneously did so, what surprises me was Ren also did call her that when talking about what happened after Naofumi went to chase after Motoyasu.

Bicchi(B1tch) and Vicchi(Witch) had similar vocal when said in Japanese.
Meanwhile her adventurer name is still Abazure(wh0re)
"Witch" is not transliterated as "Vicchi" in Japanese. It's ウィッチ ("Uicchi") which is significantly different from ビッチ ("Bicchi") which has a very different connotation in Japanese, namely it is taken to mean "slut" in Japanese.

How sure are we that those two guys are actually dead? They better not come back but I kinda doubt it with how easy they got killed.

It feels like it lost direction and is floundering. The author wanted to introduce new threats (attackers from another world) and clearly intends to develop them into the main threat but isn't doing so gracefully. They needed to have otherworld Vegeta pop out of the sky and plant 5 saibamen and kick everyone's ass but instead we've got those two dinguses that are already dead after showing up like twice. Too many different plot threads are occurring simultaneously and they're entangled rather than woven together. Showing Motoyasu losing his mind is fun and all, but there's no primary villain for the party to overcome with his newfound power especially now that the two goobers are gone. There's a passive threat of "the next wave" which makes this whole section feel like wasting time instead of progressing towards a concrete goal. They need to "Get stronger" but there's no clear "how much stronger" and "by what point." This should be a training arc where they need to hit level X before the dark tournament starts, but instead it's just kinda meandering without a clear threat or goal.

I don't think it's manga-ruining, just a weak arc.

Then again, I said that about every arc after All-Might lost his powers and we all saw how that turned out. :pepehmm:
Either way I'm going to stick around because Motoyasu is fucking hilarious.
I think the problem is that each chapter comes out every 1-2 months so the story feels dragging, probably binging it all in one go would be better? :thonk:
The pacing was fine on the first "comeuppance" arc but after the turtle (that I didn't like), with world building and side quests, has slowed down quite a bit.
Probably the anime is better in that regard (considering they already reached the bow hero).

Wait... that looks like Motoyasu from the other story— I'm not imagining, am I...? The design and way of speaking is really similar to that version of him

Okay dumb question time does Malty/ Bitch/Witch even care that the fate of her world is is on the brink of destruction? Or she too vain, egotistic, petty & stupid to realize this?

sorry, was lacking explanation due to being way too accustomated to this series

it's faster to go to ch 106 for the full explanation as why they call her Witch now. The thing has been around since 9 months ago

We've been in "weak arc" territory since the start of the Spirit Turtle and maybe even a bit before then, I think at this point we just have to admit this series had a good start helped by being one of the earliest examples of the genre, but the author's simply not capable of sticking any sort of landing.

Wish the manga would update faster so that I can comfortably stick here.
we... are still here, half of s3,
and it's been around 2 years since v10 adaptation started and v11 ended...
better think an LN vol taking a year manga adaptation at this pace

If it's a revenge isekai genre or forbidden power you're enjoying it for, there's plenty other mangas to enjoy.

Yeah, Shield Hero has turned into lore and gimmick dumpster since Cal Mira. To the point that you need to read the LN to finally understand everything.
ST gave too many for the anime to handle(mostly the director not reading the source and the author doesn't have much power in anime production like how TBATE anime situation), and the manga adaptation of it were given a lot of freedom.
Coliseum arc was too fast both in anime and manga.
The Reconcilation arc manga adaptation is a great adaptation to the novel, and people will be sick if we have to spend another chapter for Ren's pre-isekai moment so yeah, glad v11 manga adaptation ended safely.

You said it yourself "we're still half way through s3" while within a few months s4 will air.
My point is that imo the manga is the better adaptation than the anime, but with a new season being just months away I'm forced to watched it instead to see what happens next.

Glad to see that after I dropped this title 2 years ago it didn't become good. What is this pacing? Why are there multiple plotlines at the same time? And why are they all boring?
Remeber how good it was at the start? A hero's journey with a cute tanuki, going though struggles.
And look at it now, what the hell
