I called it.
Damn close, anyway.
They did their best to get her to go along with it.
She's so emotionally invested in the idea of a monogamous relationship with him that she's not capable of taking the long view, of accepting the current realities and keeping herself in the running for after they graduate and move away.
Of course, that does presume that they do all move away after graduating, rather than saying, "Hey, this works, if we keep sharing him we can all stay here where we grew up."
Depends upon how strong their ties are to their community...
They've all recognized that they aren't going to succeed in meeting someone elsewhere and bringing them back, because unless you are from there, you don't see it as having anything to offer.
That's why the community is shrinking in the first place.
So... some of them might actually float the idea of this as a long term solution.
