This forced implied love triangle (that thankfully never actually got any concretity) really threw my expectations in the gutter when I first read it. Actually, the whole relationship of Maya and Nagi never felt like anything, by the end I mean. Like... were they student and mentor? Friends? older sister and brother? kindred spirits? I don't know
I just know that the relationship between her and Aya, and Takayanagi is better defined and fun. And with Mitsuomi is kind of the high point of the series for me. It is so tragic but beautiful, terribly bloody cuz of Shin of course....
