somehow this series really does strike a balance between depraved horniness and ...sentimental "good"ness, I guess - in the sense of for all the ecchi nonsense with monsters and implied incest and lolis, the MC still is doing things in a way that makes you go "...y'know what, maybe it's better that way".
Which, I think you can only say because of the specific/explicit context of the setting, but given what could be befalling some of these heroines (the story ones, not the game ones), Ashnold's methods and decisions are bringing net-good, ultimately.
Just interesting to me because it'd be so easy to make this all just horny for the sake of it and "to hell" with any sort of deeper message or narrative payoff, but once again it's a debauched gooner manga that carries with it nuanced themes of stuff like found family, the emotional turmoil of fatalistic revenge, the resolve to exploit even unfavorable or unsavory means to achieve better & happier outcomes for the most people possible, and even bringing a sense of wholesomeness to all the hole-filling.
Anyway thanks for the TL. Story's just way better than I kind feel it has any right to be, but it's enjoyable all the same and for more reasons than just the most obvious.
