Compare this scene to the anime, and the execution is night and day. Here, there's a ton of tension as the negotiations continue to switch from favorable to doomed and so on. With Diablo being the narrative nuke that could go off at any moment.
In the anime, everyone is just talking mostly calm and standing in static poses. No wonder season 3 is so disliked. They did it no service. They have a perfect template right here and they chose to cut corners.
That being said, Kawakimi (the artist) is goated. I eat up every political intrigue and negotiations scene!!
