Earth Magic makes it easy to mitigate moles and other rodents. If he doesn't just mulch them into the soil, he can harden the areas around the fields to the point they can't tunnel thrue.

Has the secondary benefits of creating boarders and walkways around each field. Also prevents weeds and other plants from growing between the plots which further discourages pests that would use the foliage to hide from predators.

True its not a perfect solution, but it should passively deter all but the most persistent infiltrators which he would need to handle with a bit of magic anyways.

nothing that specific on MD but it'd prolly just fall under the slice of life stuff with the 'slow life' title
