Well, mom seems passive, but kinda caring and concerned about Megumi...
If this will end up with some sort of trope "death bed and reconsidering life choices" with them making up I'll be mad, might as well be "it was all in Megumi head and he was actually good", but probably he will be an ass all the time...
Either way, Megumi without panic attack is a huge progress.
