I mean if his dad went this far to stop him from using mana why not just kill him? I mean if it was so he didn't get targeted as a child shouldn't it be a training lock type of curse? Why ride the border of killing both him and person lifting the curses every time

There's so much going on in the background at this point but almost nothing happens each chapter and nothing ever seems to get resolved, reading this feels like trying to walk through a 10 foot tall packed snowbank 1 inch at a time. It feels like it go really boring

It would imply that killing baby ronan would have not only harmed the killer but not solved the problem. Think Naruto and the nine tail fox that needs to be inside a host to be entraped.
Assuming it was even the father not some shape shifter who killed the father and cursed him.

This for sure felt a bit short since the professor just started working on ronan and now needs help to not die. Definitely would have been better if they ended the chapter at the point of starting to save the professor at least we have an expectation for what to look forward to.
