wow that was some stellarly poor storytelling. Starting the chapter with a slap and drama, then ending the chapter before that scene. It is poor enough when you need to artificially inflate the tension for the chapter by doing so and have the scene appear at the end or middle or even first part of the chapter - but to not even reach the moment of the spoiler and leave it as some "cliffhanger" (except even worse writing than they usually are, as this is rather a spoiler) instead?
