At the very least though, he has enough bravery to face danger to help someone else. So that's a positive. And he better not magically be super skilled because otherwise it just goes to show how much of a lazy sentimental idiot he was being. Taking down a singular goblin in a corridor, I can accept that. It's a goblin. But something that makes other adventurers flee and causes trouble for his previous savior, that'll be something else.
