THANK GOD that the vampire is not gone. I hope that this goofy Male knight is gone for good, and this random ass gulan knight will just be her cover up identity.

I can't emphasize it enough how much i hate the male knight inside the mc. I excpected it to be maybe he is still him but slowly becomes a vampire more and more, but nah hes him most of the time gets wopped and uses the powers of the vampire. Even if he is a separate person independent of the Vampure, he was just a way for her to disguise themselves. Nevertheless, you see him again again and again, and it is portrayed as if both are fighting for power in the body, although it is very clear that his identity is becoming less and less important, and besides, as a viewer, you don't want to see this stupid knight. Then before this current "arc" everything could have been prevented if the vampire had simply murdered the former sister of the human and current Gulan Empress, but no, this stupid disgusting male knight has to stop her and throw us into this story line now

It also sounded as if the vampire and human were the same person, but then it became clear that they were two different personalities, like a physical disorder. But she still has adopted characteristics of a human? its all confusing

I must say i like the loli vampire trope, the genderswap ect. and i real,y enjoyed when the mc returns to the blood realm acts as a vampire and the princess. That was nice, because it's kind of clear now that things are getting shittier, are there other stories like this? Vampires, loli, gender swap?

Failure to Communicate:
  • Ji Bai is the MC for a huge chunk of the manga.
  • Manga fails to show a significant difference between their two mentalities for pretty much the entire run. Their personality differences seems to just be surface differences -- much like how a person acts differently in work vs personal settings.
  • Manga fails to note that Ji Bai got sealed until he reappears at which point we get Bai Ji saying "I thought he was sealed!"
  • After that, its still confusing. E.g. it looked like Bai Ji's personality got erased just a few chapters ago. But now, its like... No she's still there and is just fine.
  • In short: Important personality info that should be an important plot point is just not communicated at all.
Possible Plot Approaches:
  • If the major plot point was: Conflict between the two personalities, then that should have been shown clearly with contradiction, antagonism, mental fighting -- we get none of that. (Aside from a few minor differences of opinion.)
  • Or if the major plot point was: No conflict, but rather uncertainty between conflicting drives, eventually leading to decisions and personal changes, then we should have seen that. But again, we didn't see that.
  • Or (variation on previous: Have the change in drives happen before narrative takes place. So that "Ji Bai" has the memories of his former ideals, but just no longer is emotionally driven by them. I.e. in that case "Ji Bai" is dead from the beginning, but "Bai Ji" takes a while to accept/adapt to that. (This is similar to preceding scenario, but different.)
  • Or (simpler) "Ji Bai" is just a disguise from the beginning. (But in this case, there's no plot on this issue.)

But this mess starts with Ji Bai, spends at least first 1/3 of manga on him, thus making him the MC. Then he's just dropped and it's not even made clear that he's dropped until long after the fact. Author has effectively murdered the MC offscreen with zero fanfare.

Welp I have no problem with male Ji Bai tho since he's sincere with his feeling tho that he's kinda naive but here I really like how he got so much affection with the people he care especially towards his family

Ah and I also really glad that the cute vampire form and persona is still thrre

It's like yin and yang about Ji Bai and Bai Ji anyway and Bai Ji is also same but assertive and sassy which thats why I like her alot

This is why I warned people about the bad writing of this Manga. Even the WN isn't save from the bad writing unfortunately.
Almost all the reviews on WN complained about the bad plot including the ending where as most compliment the early story.

This is why I also hate double personality story

This story always been very trashy, it like they adapted a NaNoWriMo project with how shotgun the entire plot is. But I am pretty left stunned at the idea that the Gulan arc --probably their longest and most consistent plotline-- amounted to nothing too. What is this story, bros...?

Also yes, happy that the vampire loli is here, can at least say this story makes me want to make my own TSF AR vampire story so that SOMEONE can do it well...

Only reason most of us are here is because of the vampire.

I wouldn't have minded if this was kind of like Yugioh: both personalities meet inside the mind, talk and argue. Over time either they find common ground like Yugi and Yami, or fight for dominance of the body and then one of them dies.

Or just remove the double personality, which would have been fine. It would have been interesting seeing Ji Bai being the female vampire and have to accept that he isn't a human anymore.

Thanks.

Personally, I'm just reading this for fun with my brain turned off. It's either this or doom scrolling on twitter. :kek:

I thought Bai Ji is just Ji Bai but brainwashed or something
And I read from someone that
Bai Ji made the Ji Bai personality just to remember who she once was. I don't know if it's true or not but eh story is all over the place

For me, the explanation of the creation of the vampire felt like an invasion, not a conversion. So I feel like there is a completely separate entity inhabiting the knight's body, like one of those snail parasites with the wobbly eyes. xD The (then) vampire queen torturing and brainwashing the Knight, with blood mixing to bring her daughter to life.

Which is why I can't bring myself to like the queen either >.< The Aunt is not as bad, at least the cousin doesn't know.

I mean, I like both Bai Ji and Ji Bai, honestly some sort of physical separation of their forms would be awesome, maybe as some sort of finale (or it'll never happen and when this story does eventually stop, we'll end up with the status quo ending)

Anyway, the original reason I was gonna come here - is anyone else getting fed up with the Her / Him flip flopping when talking about the Emperor, it makes it so hard to read >.< I'm not blaming the translator here, it could easily come from the source material as it seems to match the rest of this undroppable trash's quality :D
