He had some kind of injury or other issue in late 2023 that made it difficult for him to draw and is seemingly still an issue. he made a tweet at one point talking about having to re-learn how to draw because of it. i think that's about as specific as he's gotten. he still occasionally posts art from the series so he might continue it some day.
