I suspect the other saintess girl is actually possessed, or a demon, and was stealing our MC's powers which might have been the actual point of the 'room of repentance'. It'd also explain why everyone who's possessed seems to praise and love her.

Wait...so did Edwin get engaged to the Fake Saintess (I assume she's fake since the possessed priest wanted her to be The Saintess), in order to get close enough to steal her heart back? Cause it's obvious who he loves.

And the fact that he knew she somehow lost it and he knew where it is, is like super sus.
