Every time he calls Rene "lady," I cringe. Definitely should have been translated as "my lady" or "m'lady" or "miss" or "mistress". "Lady" by itself and not as a title attached to a name sounds like a chauvanistic slur, like calling a grown man "Boy". It just sounds belittling, not respectful.
