Can't wait for the predictable "wow he got away and did more damage elsewhere" arc
Lets also ignore the future sight girl
Its like the author is saying they need to have future drama somehow no matter what

Based on what he said about them not being good with flying opponents, it seems like there'd be casualties regardless (ofc going after that villain likely would've prevented a greater tragedy). That said, I still rather him stay and help protect the camp. Although in the end, this all could've been prevented if he took the villain seriously in the first place and tried to actually incapacitate and/or kill him as soon as he saw him.

Well, hope he doesn't regret it. You didn't believe in those guys to save themselves and wanted to play hero.

Everyone can regret if they didn't know how it was going to play out, but both his senses and a precog told him otherwise, there's no one to blame at that point except himself.

Another stupid MC that permit the villain leaves, so he come backs later making suffer for the girls and the camp, and he's to stupid to kill him an send him to the corrupted or stupid authorities
He doesn't come back, honestly it's worse, he becomes host to something akin to a demon plague and becomes close to a demon lord, the capital get's taken over because rust didn't go after him.

To be fair, while we know it's gonna backfire on him, most of us probably didn't know it would backfire this much.

It's prob going to work out because of anime plot armor, but this feels really dumb. He even says "alchemists aren't supposed to fight because of the damage they do to the surroundings, just imagine the kind of fucked up results that'd come from Rihalzam coming back to fight seriously!" and then promptly decides to do the action that puts off the greater danger until later. Not to mention that the future-sight girl literally tells him he's making the wrong decision.

So much for the "trust" he talks about here, you'd think he would trust his friend who can literally see the future. Or that he could trust Kalin's ability to hold the sky salmon back, even if there's casualties (which from what he says, will be greater when Rihalzam comes back). He also says this is his way of no longer being passive like at his old job, but if you ask me, being passive is all about the path that trades long term gains for lesser short term ones. Which is literally what he's doing right now, by letting Rihalzam go.

lol, if the female lord is really that weak, to the point that she's stressed out and broke down if there's casualties due to attacks like this, then she shouldn't become an army leader in the first place.

She's also a cunning person, because she clearly using manipulation tactics onto the MC with the whole "chase the guy or defend the camp" choice, since she know that the MC having emotional dependency, and will choose to stay defending the camp instead of chasing the guy.

So yeah, let's have some fun seeing all the bad decisions from the MC in future chapters...

Meh... It's predictable. If he gets defeated and destroyed but not killed, he's gonna play the victim card and use his connections to accuse MC and his side as terrorists or something. If he doesn't get destroyed and MC just let him off, then he's gonna be a bigger threat in the future for the entire world.
Want a quick, easy, and sure way to deal with him? Off with his head.

Girl who can see the future says something's fucked? Nah let's ignore her

I cannot believe that MC is told by Future sight go after him and then gives us a stupid spiel about how he's always been passive and it's now his choice on what to do.... So he chooses to not stop the greater threat that he knows will definitely happen and stays behind to protect people that probably don't need protecting. Heck we learn there are basements they can hide in so why aren't they all in there and defending the fricken entryways killing the enemy a few at the time at worst.

It's all so poorly written and I'm so incredibly annoyed by this chapter that I'm giving it 2 chapters to get better or I drop.

It's a very strange move for a story to build up the main character's relationship with a literal orcale while also building up a central early antagonist and later have said orcale character tell the main character what they should do for the best possible outcome only to ignored because friendship.

It honestly feels like this is an earlier chapter of a different story. Like it'd be pretty interesting if this was a different MC and he was openly distrusting because of how he was treated and this was an earlier chapter so he didn't trust in the twins enough to trust their judgment.

As is this is just bad. A horrible anticlimactic ending to a pretty B plot to begin with (the other alchemist wasn't the most compelling or complex antagonist) that also feels completely out of character. By now the MC should have enough trust in the abilities of his companions to 1) believe they won't die without him and 2) believe the one that can see the future when she gives him the answer.

I also call BS on his reasoning that they would blame themselves if there happened to be any casualties. I'm 100% certain they'll blame themselves far FAR more when there are more casualties either in the future or straight up right now in the capital because again the person who can SEE THE FUTURE said it'd be worse if the MC didn't just chase down the pathetic loser bad guy and end this.

The prediction happened right before a swarm split off to go to the capital and he reminisced about how much more he likes his life here than in the capital. They're suggesting that what she's predicting isn't a threat of him returning but what's about to happen in the capital. This also ties into him being passive before, in a kinda fucked way. What's being weighed here isn't current vs future cost/danger but danger to the greater number of people (almost all completely unrelated to this) vs danger to the people he actually cares about here and he choose the small number of people he cares about here. It completely disregards the situation and casualties so that he can act to prioritize who and what he cares about. It makes it's point...it's just a kinda fucked up one.

MC actually made the right decision.. At least in a world not ran on Plot Armor.

The fat guildmaster is now known to be a Bad'Un, and may have "gotten away" for now.
However, Kalin is a noble with her own connections, and can send a message to either a ministry or her family stating "I don't know what you lot are up to, but a fat guild toad appeared and actually threatened me and my subjects. I do trust you can keep your little dogs in line before I am forced to deal with this. Love and kisses, Kalin".
They don't have to necessarily deal with fat toady themselves, at least not immediately.

The flying sushi is a direct threat, especially since the territory Kalin holds currently is in development. An outpost.
You deal with stuff on your plate first, and only then worry about potential and theoretical what-ifs.
Which in this case is the flying sushi.

The pack of sushi splitting off towards the capital isn't even an issue to them.
If a nation's capital can't fend off a pack of flying fish coming from a known direction: That monster-infested territory that the kingdom wants developed, it deserves to be roflstomped.

Together with the fact that our MC is not suffering from Hero Syndrome, the choice to defend the outpost colony is the right one.
