Why anyone would bring a bolt action rifle to a hoard of enemies like that, are military really out of budget for their ground troop? The range of those are too good to be used in such close range. At least they got them rocket.

Because the tatic worked against the weaker enemies (majoroty of it) , only the last monster that wans't suposed to appear in a gate of that level was immune to it.

Shelter close to a danger zone is the best place to have one. They had almost no time until the gate started to pouring montesrs
