I have to agree. I just watched a video recap of this (up to chap 14, the latest raw at this time). The author sets up lots of interesting scenarios, and gives MC an intriguing ability (creation magic). But then completely punts them.
MC doesn't actually resolve any of the scenarios - except for one bandit being killed, the bad guys aren't eliminated, so they just continue to cause problems. (MC even goes all into shock about about the guy he killed. Dude was just about to kill you and your girl. You reacted to protect yourself and happened to kill him, but you think that you did something wrong?). MC has intriguing powers (creation magic) but decides it's wrong to use it except in desperate circumstances.
It also shows MC dropping live bandits out of his item box - a truly game-breaking ability. But there's no further mention of it made. Later when he's about to be killed and the bad guy is stepping on his head. I was screaming just put him in your item box. But no, MC just suffers through it because apparently it's wrong to hurt the bad guys.
It's like the author wants to tantalize you with all sorts of possible interesting things that could happen in the story. But absolutely refuses to make any of them happen, in order to make the story as boring as possible. I'd rate this one even worse than the flying castle story.
